THE STORY
Ellie and Devin’s winter wedding was a cozy, Nordic-inspired celebration that blended elegance with heart. Their Washington, DC reception featured textural florals, glowing candlelight, and layered natural elements—linen, wood, and velvet—that created depth and warmth, while modern matte accents and clean lines kept the aesthetic elevated and refined. Long, communal tables encouraged connection and conversation, evoking the spirit of an intimate dinner party within a luxury wedding setting.
Personal heritage and storytelling were woven throughout the design: Swedish Dala horse table numbers, Polish Wycinanki cutouts on the escort display, and day-of paper goods featuring playful Norwegian and Polish phrases. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails in camping mugs and a family-style feast of pierogies and a traditional Swedish smörgåsbord. The night ended with disco balls, glow sticks, and a packed dance floor—proof that even the most thoughtful, design-driven weddings can be both soulful and unforgettable.
